i just love kenhina and established relationships and social media fics, ya know? seriously, the perfect trifecta. and you know what they always say! write the fic that you want to see in this world. and ohhhhhh boy did i want to see this fic in the world.

THE BACKGROUND

this fic started in a car, my sister driving, and i think either after drinking an iced green tea or an iced latte. don't really remember.

i had just finished reading the karasuno x nekoma game and it made me !!!! explode at the seams !!! i love nekoma so so so much and kenhina has been my otp since day 1, seriously. i was also so in love with the idea of kenma being a famous streamer and all of the really fucking cool jobs nekoma has post time skip.

and so i was like "hey sister, a kenma centric fic about kenma hanging out with his friends."

and my sister was like "hey that's really cool you should do kenhina and a 5+1 fic because im just agreeing to everything that you are saying right now. let me help you brainstorm the basics."

and thus according to youtube statistics was born. i just wanted to write kenma and his friends with in love with shouyou ya know?? ya know???

also i really wasn't going to code ever again BUT the idea of having tweets as scene bookmarkers was too good to pass up..... maybe i am addicting to coding in fic. Maybe.

THEMES

ahhhh the biggest themes in this fic are friendship and familiarity.

kenma legit has so many friends it's kind of insane. i would LOVE to do another fic told from fan's POV of kenma being spotted in really weird places (please i love outside POV fics.) because his friends are legit all over the world. but that's for another day.

so obvi, there is the theme of friendship. kenma's friends are all different and he has different types of friendship with different people. his relationship with kuroo is different from his relationship with fukunaga, but god do they all hit.

and here comes the theme of familiarity. because one of the reasons kenma is so good friends with everyone is because he's familiar with them. he knows them well, has gotten used to their quirks and their oddities. and then things that once made kenma upset (and vice versa) are things he's okay with now.

i think there's a true beauty in being able to be open and your true self with so many people. and godddddd does kenma have so many people that love him and that he loves back. yes he's a total introvert but that doesn't mean he can't have really good friends that have and will continue to last through the years.

this is really true with the aspects of kenhina that are in the fic. because they are incredibly different people but they love each other because of their differences and ;-; im making myself emotional over kenhina now.


PERSONAL FAV LINES

my favorite lines!!!!!!!!!!!

If he concentrates very, very hard, he will not throw up. He is sure this comes with a plethora of circumstantial ties. Shouyou is actually a very good driver. Attentive, cautious, always uses his turn signals. Even if he does move a lot while dancing to a song or talks animatedly with only one hand on the steering wheel, Shouyou knows what he’s doing.

honestly hinata being able to drive AND using his turn signals is the best headcanon i've ever come up with

Kenma does not, in fact, have even a single secretary. He has Microsoft Office and Google Alerts on, which is about the same thing. He clicks through his phone until he gets to the email about his flight. Okay, so he wasn’t wrong. He does leave tomorrow.

Kenma doesn’t end up editing because he falls asleep after two minutes on his computer. When he wakes up there’s a blanket over him that he is sure he didn’t put over himself

YAKU THE RESPONSIBLE LovinG CARING FRIEND

“Tora almost cried at your volleyball joke,” Kenma inputs. Their friendship, from the very beginning, has consisted of two them arguing (now, most of the time, playfully) and the third person either pulling them apart from each other or egging the fight on. Kenma is quiet, but he is also an instigator. “I was going to take a video of it, but he stopped me before I could do it.”

kenma is a little instigator and i love him for it. feral man.

Sakusa might have to deal with the chaos that is Bokuto, Atsumu, and Shouyou on the daily, but there is something about the duo of Kageyama and Shouyou that unlocks something feral.

OVERALL

man i had fun writing this fic. also the response has been insane. like almost 200 kudos and it hasn't even been a full two weeks? what the hell. i'm in awe. i don't have any more kenhina fics planned atm but ahhhhhhh they are just pure comfort for me.

also, the russian tweet was just. So funny to me. i ended up having to text my russian speaking friend to get a proper translation because wow. russian is intense in their specifications. but it seemed like a funny little bit to put it. i tried to make the tweets as close to stan twt behavior as i could. i'm not on streamer twt (thank.... god?) but i am streamer twitter adjacent. hope i was able to get it close!
